Two personality traits predict larger social networks in older adults
A study utilizing data from the English Longitudinal Study of Ageing found that traits such as extraversion and agreeableness significantly contribute to larger social networks in individuals in their later adulthood. The research, however, also revealed that these socio-communicative traits do not necessarily predict the changes in social relationships over time, emphasizing the complex dynamics of interpersonal relationships later in life.
