Body Image and Body Dysmorphia

Body image refers to an individual's perceptions, feelings, and thoughts about their physical appearance. Everyone can have occasional insecurities about how they look, but body image concerns arise when these insecurities become overwhelming, persistent, and influence one's daily life and self-worth. Body Dysmorphic Disorder, often simply termed body dysmorphia, is a mental health condition where individuals obsess over perceived flaws or defects in their appearance, which might be minor or non-existent to others. These obsessions can be so intense that they interfere with daily functioning.
